RHASSOUL

Rhassoul clay is a brown/red clay that can be found in Morocco.  Rhassala is the Arabic word for washing which is what the name of the clay was derived from. It has been used by several different cultures as a cosmetic ingredient for their hair, skin, and face.

The clay is rich in minerals that contain healing properties. It has a unique mineral composition that contains magnesium and silica. Silica & Magnesium contains exfoliant properties which will remove layers of product that are preventing the hair from absorbing ‘fresh’ moisture. After cleansing, your hair will feel renewed and glossy.

It is perfect for soothing an inflamed scalp. If you are experiencing scalp issues such as dandruff, psoriasis, and an itchy scalp, ensure to apply more of the clay to the scalp. Once applied, massage the clay into the scalp to promote blood circulation to open up the pores. It allows the minerals from the clay to get in there to remove any blockages on the scalp. So, it allows the scalp to function as it should by promoting hair growth and the sebum needed to coat the new growth. Rhassoul clay can be used by itself and also it works well with other clays and oils. 

BENTONITE

Bentonite clay is made from volcanic ash. The ash after the volcano lava has hardened is rich in minerals for our scalp and hair. This doesn’t mean that you can use the ash directly as there is a specific procedure for extracting the bentonite clay.

The bentonite clay is incredibly powerful to remove positively charged ions which are formulated in most products. Our natural hair is negatively charged so it will need the opposite to be stripped of its toxins and impurities.  Also, bentonite clay matches the PH of our scalp, so you don’t have to worry about your scalp reacting negatively towards it.

It has a high absorption rate of oil so it can remove the excess sebum and oil that has been sitting on your hair for months. Bentonite is called the healing clay due to its high concentration of iron, magnesium, potassium, and even silica. The iron aids in encouraging blood circulation to the scalp to promote healthy hair growth and sebum production. As well as it has potassium which improves the cell renewal process to improve the hair’s elasticity.

Bentonite clay works well for the scalp as well as unclogs the pores encourages sebum production and soothes an inflamed scalp. All of these are needed for the scalp to function as it should, which is to promote healthy hair growth. Like Rhassoul clay, do be mindful of where you are buying your bentonite clay from.

KAOLIN CLAY

Kaolin clay is a lightweight clay that has a powdery texture, so it is soft and smooth to the touch. Kaolin clay has been mined all over the world as it is manufactured from kaolinite stone.

The primary constituent in kaolin clay is silica. Silica balances the PH of the scalp to prevent and reduce scalp inflammation. This makes it easier to exfoliate the scalp, especially the pores to unclog any buildup that is preventing the scalp from functioning as it should.

Similarly, to bentonite clay, it will absorb the excess oil and sebum on your scalp without stripping the hair so that it is brittle and weak. After cleansing your scalp and hair it will embed added minerals and nutrients to penetrate the hair shaft.

  Application: -

 1) Thoroughly drench your hair in water

 2) Section your hair into 4 or 6 parts

 3) Apply the Clay wash to each section from tips to roots

 4) Massage the clay wash into your scalp to stimulate blood circulation

 5) Use the praying hands' method along the length of your hair to evenly spread the product

 6) Let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes so the clay penetrates the hair shaft

 7) Rinse thoroughly so that all of the clay and clumps of clay are removed from your hair.
