Growth rarely announces itself loudly. Sometimes it shows up as a gentle nudge. A thought that won’t leave. A feeling that keeps returning.
That’s how this new season is beginning for me.
If you’ve been part of the Strands of Faith journey for any length of time, you know this brand has never been simply about hair but it’s always been about faith, identity, self-trust, and honoring the evolution that comes with giving yourself the space and grace to grow.
And as a founder, I’ve grown so much over the years. I’m evolving daily and with that sometimes comes stepping into new seasons.
What kind of season you ask?
A new hair season!
Blesstie… guess what?
I’m considering locs.
I can’t fully explain it, except to say the idea dropped in my spirit the same way the idea to start Strands of Faith did back in 2017.
And lately, in this season of growth, I’ve learned to honor myself without questioning or second-guessing much.
Although I haven’t fully landed on my final decision, I feel at peace!
The same peace I felt when I desired to create this brand for you.
The beautiful thing about SOF is that we have always been a brand for textured strands.
Loose strands. Transitioning strands. Loc’d strands. Every texture. Every journey.
So me deciding to loc my strands doesn’t change who we are at all or who we will become.
This evolution doesn’t change our mission. It simply expands my lived experience within it.
We will continue serving you with premium-quality, intentional products, the same way we always have.
The Irony I Can’t Ignore
And here’s the part that makes me smile every time I think about it.
Remember our Limited Edition Amla, Rosemary, and Lavender Collection?
You asked us to bring it back permanently and we did.

When I redesigned the labels, I updated the Rosemary spray name to be Hair, Scalp & Loc Spray without any idea that I’d one day be a main user of it myself.
That’s how alignment works sometimes.
You don’t see the full picture until you’re standing inside of it.
What This Season Looks Like For Me
Right now, I’m installing micro twists. In about five weeks, I’ll decide whether to interlock my roots and officially begin my loc journey.
I’m giving myself permission to take my time. To feel. To listen.
Because slowing down and making intentional, conscious decisions...that, too, is growth.
What I Hope This Inspires in You
This isn’t solely about hair.
It’s about honoring the season you’re in.

Rest
Growth
Letting go
Starting over
Becoming more of yourself
I just want to let you know that you don’t owe anyone permission outside of yourself when growth is calling.
You owe yourself the power to simply be.
After being a loose strand natural for almost 20 years, wherever this hair journey leads me, I’m willing to follow.
