Sometimes we want the entire plan before we're willing to take the next step.
We want to know where the opportunity will lead.
We want confirmation that we're making the right decision.
We want to know that the risk will be worth it, that the relationship will work, that the door will open, or that the thing we're building will become what we imagine it can be.
But life rarely gives us that kind of certainty.
Most of the time, we get the next step.
And then another.
And then another.
That's what today's Faithfirmation® is about:
I am walking in my purpose. I know that my steps are ordered.
Purpose Doesn't Always Feel Like Certainty
We sometimes imagine that walking in our purpose means we'll always feel sure about where we're going.
But purpose can come with questions.
It can come with detours.
It can come with seasons that don't make sense until much later.
There may even be moments when you look around and wonder, How did I get here? Is this really where I'm supposed to be?
Not knowing exactly where you're going doesn't necessarily mean you're lost.
Think about some of the most meaningful moments in your life. Chances are, you couldn't have predicted every step that led you there.
One conversation introduced you to someone.
One "no" redirected you toward something else.
One unexpected opportunity made you reconsider what was possible.
One decision that seemed small at the time changed the direction of your life.
Sometimes we don't recognize the path while we're walking it.
We understand it when we look back.
Your Next Step Doesn't Have to Be Your Final Step
There can be so much pressure to make the perfect decision.
But what if you stopped asking yourself to figure out the next five years and simply asked:
What is the next step that feels aligned with who I am and who I'm becoming?
Take that one.
You are allowed to learn along the way.
You are allowed to change direction when you gain new information.
You are allowed to discover that something you thought was the destination was actually preparation for somewhere else.
And you are allowed to trust that every meaningful step doesn't have to make sense immediately.
Keep Walking
Maybe you're in a season right now where you can't see very far ahead.
That's okay.
You don't need the entire map to take the next step.
You just need enough faith to keep walking.
So when uncertainty makes you question whether you're still on the right path, come back to this:
I am walking in my purpose. I know that my steps are ordered.
Keep showing up.
Keep listening to yourself.
Keep learning.
Keep becoming.
And keep walking.
One day, you may look behind you and realize that some of the steps you questioned the most were the very ones that helped lead you exactly where you needed to be.
A Moment to Reflect
Where in your life are you demanding the entire plan when you may only need to focus on the next step?
Give yourself permission to release the pressure of having everything figured out.
