Sometimes when you're in the middle of something difficult, it's hard to see beyond what you're experiencing right now.
The problem feels too big.
The season feels too long.
The uncertainty feels too uncomfortable.
And when you're standing in the middle of it, you can easily forget something incredibly important:
You've been here before.
Maybe not in this exact situation. Maybe not facing this exact challenge. But there have been other moments when you didn't know how things were going to work out.
And somehow, you made it through.
That's what today's Faithfirmation® is here to remind you:
I am an overcomer. No matter what trials I may face in life, I will always come out victorious.
Being an overcomer doesn't mean life never gets difficult.
It doesn't mean you never feel afraid, tired, disappointed, frustrated, or unsure of what to do next.
It means those moments don't get to become the final definition of your story.
Don't Forget the Evidence of Who You've Already Been
When we're facing something new, we often focus so heavily on what's ahead of us that we forget to look behind us.
Look at your own life.
Think about something you once wondered if you would ever get through.
A disappointment you thought would break you.
A season you couldn't wait to end.
A decision you were terrified to make.
A moment when you had absolutely no idea what came next.
You're here.
That doesn't mean everything turned out perfectly. Sometimes overcoming doesn't look like getting the outcome we originally wanted.
Sometimes overcoming means adapting.
Sometimes it means starting again.
Sometimes it means realizing you deserve something different.
Sometimes it means discovering a strength in yourself you didn't know existed.
And sometimes victory simply means that what happened to you didn't stop you from continuing to become who you're meant to be.
Carry That Version of You Forward
The next time life presents you with something that makes you wonder, How am I going to get through this?, remember the person who got you through everything that came before it.
You.
The version of you reading this today carries lessons, wisdom, experience, and resilience that previous versions of you didn't have yet.
So you don't have to know exactly how this chapter ends to believe that you'll make it to the other side.
You can remind yourself:
I am an overcomer.
Not I hope I can overcome this.
Not maybe I'll figure it out.
I am an overcomer.
Let that become part of how you see yourself.
A Moment to Reflect
Think of one thing you once believed you wouldn't make it through. What did that experience teach you about yourself?
Hold onto that answer the next time you're tempted to doubt whether you can handle what's in front of you.
Go back to the Faithfirmation® above. Screenshot it, save it to your phone, and speak it over yourself throughout the week. 💚
Keep the Faith.
